We packed up the tent and said goodbye the Bishops and went to Kununurra to collect the van. When we arrived at the van we realised that there had been a blackout and our fridge and frozen food had defrosted, not happy!! So we did a quick shop and hit to the road for a long drive to The Bungle Bungles. The scenery on the way was nice and we saw lots of wild horses and cows. We arrived around 4.30pm and had a quiet night after the long drive.
During the night a stray cow kept knocking down a fence and running thru the camp ground looking for food and water. The kids loved watching it before they went to bed.
The hour drive into the Bungle Bungles was terrible with corrigated/rocky roads and very windy. We arrived at 8am to register at the information centre and headed straight to Cathedral Gorge, which was huge and very impressive.
Then we raced around to Echidna Chasm to arrive by 11.00am so that we were inside by 11.30am to watch the sun fill the chasm. It was beautiful and very special to see.
On the drive out of the Bungle Bungles the boys made their first rock formation. We kept seeing them on the side of the road and we would always say, we should make one. So Michael stopped the car and we all jumped out and this is our creation.
