We stayed at Karrajong Camp ground which was just over the sand dune to the beach. It was a lovely spot.
Once we had all set up we met the Glover's at Lakeside for a snorkel. The weather was beautiful and we spent the afternoon in the sun having a few drinks.
We all went for a drive to Oyster Stacks to have a look but we couldn't snorkel as the tide was too low. We had to wait until our last day for the right tide to be able to snorkel here.
The kids had fun running thru the scrub chasing Emu's and Kangaroo's until the sun started to go down.
The next morning we went back into Exmouth and hired a kayak and bought some fresh prawns for lunch. The Glovers came to our camp and we had a nice lunch over looking the beach. We then all went to Turquoise Bay for a snorkel. The fish here were so colourful and you could see them from the shore. I was snorkeling by myself and I looked around and a man said to me "would you like to see a shark" I said "I'm not sure" as I have a massive fear of sharks. I followed him to the spot and he told me to "dive down and look under the ledge". I couldn't do it so I called out to the boys and they came and had a look. I still didn't have the nerve to have a look.
The boys really enjoyed paddling the kayak around.
It was the Glover's last night so we went to their camp ground Osprey for a snorkel and dinner. Michael and the boys all went in and spotted heaps of turtles. Michael swam with a turtle for over 10 minutes and has video of him touching and swimming with it. He was stoked.
It was very sad to see our friends leave as we had shared some great times together. It was always easy and fun travelling together. We look forward to seeing them again soon when we drop into their farm on the way home.
The next 2 days were very windy with the wind getting up to 45 klm per hour. We went for walks along the beach and the kids caught crabs. When the wind dropped off we went back to Turquoise Bay and the boys had another snorkel.
We drove up to the lighthouse and watched the whales swimming by and a surfer get towed into the reef on a jet ski. Then we went to look at the Mildura Wreck. The boys went back out for one last paddle at our camp and spotted a few turtles swimming around.
