20 June 2016 - Horizontal Falls - Day 79

It was time for abit more school work so we spent most of the morning in the van catching up.

Then we went to the local swimming pool for a quick swim and then raced back to the caravan to get ready for the Horizontal Falls.

We got picked up from the caravan park in a bus and taken to Derby airport were we boarded a sea plane.  It was very exciting as we had never been on a sea plane before.

The flight into the falls was awesome with the most amazing scenery.  I think this was the most impressive flight that we have done.  The pilot flew really close to the moutains coming into the falls, I thought we were going to crash we were that close.

Once on the houseboat we were shown to our rooms with the lady asking our names.  When we told her our names she said there is abit of a trick to our room and we would have to wait.  Little did we know that we had been upgraded to the penthouse and we had a keypad to enter our room.  We couldn't believe it.  The room was amazing with windows and a balcony the whole way around and it's own ensuite.

Then we jumped on a 900 hp speedboat and went to the Horizontal Falls.  It was super exciting as the water was rushing thru the first opening and then we sped thru to the second.  We couldn't get thru the second opening as the drop from the water was 4m and you can't go thru anything higher than 2m. The highest wall of water they can get is 5m.

After the boat ride we went back to the houseboat and the kids got to feed and pat the sleepy sharks that hang around the boat.

That night we had a barramundi dinner and a few drinks with the other passengers under a full moon.
